Police releases Acharya who made TikTok video showing several bundles of cash

KATHMANDU, April 7: The person who posted the video on TikTok with several bundles of cash in the bed has been released after warning not to post similar videos in the future.


After Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) published the news about the person, Kathmandu Police Range, which was conducting a search operation in this regard, has said that the person who made the video was identified as Sulav Acharya, a permanent resident of Bardibas-1, Mahottari district. He currently lives in Mahalakshmi Municipality-5 Tikathali in Lalitpur.

Acharya had made a video of putting Rs 1000 and Rs 500 currency notes on the bed. When he was interrogated, he said that he had withdrawn money from the bank to pay college fees as he was going abroad for studies. He mentioned that he thought it would be fun to make a video by putting the money around him.


Based on his statement during the investigation, it was found that the amount was withdrawn from Everest Bank. He has been warned not to involve in such activities in the future, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhubaneshwar Shah.
