HELAMBU, July 19: Tear Fund Nepal in collaboration with Compassionate Hands for Nepal has handed over 80 bundles of zinc sheets to flood and landslides victims in Helambu Rural Municipality. As many as five bundles have been distributed to 16 families in order to construct temporary settlements for the victims.
The construction materials were handed over jointly by Program Manager Lok Bahadur Chaudhary and Finance and Administration Manager Arun Dewan, to the Chief of the Health Section of the Helambu Rural Municipality Gyanendra Sigdel. Sigdel assured that the zinc sheets will be distributed to the affected families immediately.
Ward office distributes zinc sheets to destitute
According to Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Arun Senchury of the organization, they have provided food supplies, health materials and zinc sheets worth Rs 2.75 million to affected communities since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organization in coordination with the local government agencies is also working for the economic empowerment of 130 households in ward 3 and 7 through gender and family empowerment project, public awareness and facilitation against gender based violence throughout the municipality.
