Negligent surgeries leave women in Nepal with lifelong consequences

In Nepal, an alarming rise in fistula cases is impacting women’s lives, often caused by surgical complications or prolonged childbirth. Fistula, where urine or stool leaks uncontrollably, is severely affecting women’s health, social lives, and marriages. Experts highlight that timely treatment could prevent most cases, but due to societal stigma and medical negligence, many women suffer in silence for years.
