Birendra Batika to be open for public

KAILALI, Jan 12: The Birendra Bishram Batika in the Tikapur Park is being opened to the public.



The executive council meeting of Tikapur Municipality held recently decided to open the garden for the general public.


Mayor Ramlal Dagaura Tharu said with the decision to make the garden accessible to the public, the entry fee per person is fixed at Rs 20.

There is a residence of the late king Birendra inside the garden. 


"As the people visiting the park are interested in knowing about the king's residence, we decided to give them access. It will be in effect from January 14," he shared.


It is said the residence built in the park 40 years ago has 12 rooms.


King Birendra used to stay in this residence during his visit to Tikapur.
