Police arrest former CEO of Century Commercial Bank Tulsi Ram Gautam

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The then Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Century Commercial Bank, Tulsi Ram Gautam, has been arrested. He was arrested on the charge of embezzlement.

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The then Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Century Commercial Bank, Tulsi Ram Gautam, has been arrested. He was arrested on the charge of embezzlement.


Manoj Neupane was the CEO of Century Commercial Bank before Gautam became the CEO. Neupane is Senior Deputy CEO of Century Commercial Bank after its merger with Prabhu Bank.

Along with Neupane, four other incumbent employees of the bank have also been arrested. They are  Dilip Baral, Dipesh Pradhan, Raman Shrestha and Rajesh Bhandari who worked in Century Commercial Bank. 


Neupane is the nephew of former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. Neupane was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Century Commercial Bank in June 2078.


A team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested 11 people including Gautam and Neupane on the request of Nepal Rastra Bank for alleged misappropriation of loans before Century Commercial Bank merged with Prabhu Bank.
