KATHMANDU, March 17: The death toll in Gurjudhara pile-up has reached 2 as one injured passed away while undergoing treatment at Trauma Center.


The deceased is Dambar Pokharel, 37, of Jhapa.

Earlier, a man died and nine others sustained injuries when a tripper, Na 3 Kha 9773, heading to Kalanki from  Thankot  went out of control and rammped several vehicles incluidng a taxi coming from the opposite direction at Gurjudhara in the capital on Friday.


The deceased is a 46-year-old taxi driver Kanchha Lama of Panauti, Kavre. Lama breathed his last while being rushed to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgun, Assistant Sub Inspector Satya Devi Regmi of Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot, told Republica Online. 


The other injured are undergoing treatment at various clinics and hospitals. 


The break failure is the cause behind the accident, a priliminary investigaiton of the police said.
