CHITWAN, Dec 22: A person has been arrested for his alleged involvement in tiger poaching.
The arrested has been identified as Amrit Neupane, 20, of Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality-1 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East). At a press conference on Sunday, the Chitwan National Park (CNP) made Neupane public.
Human-Tiger Coexistence Amidst Rising Tiger Population
CNP's Chief Conservation Officer Ganesh Pant said that he was arrested for further investigation into the incident of poaching a Bengal tiger.
Pant further said that a snapshot of a trapped tiger was retrieved from the mobile phone of Neupane in course of recovering call details.
A case has been filed against him for tiger poaching as per the National Park and Wildlife Conservation (Fifth Amendment) Act, 2029.
