KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Nepal Police have arrested one person from New Road, Kathmandu, for his alleged involvement in illegal gold trade.
A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division today arrested Padam Pandey, a permanent resident of Kailali, currently living in Nagarjuna, Kathmandu, involved in illegal gold trade in New Road.

Spokesperson for the police office, SP Rabindra Regmi confirmed that Pandey had been arrested with illegal gold when the police raided the factory next to 'Ompal Gold Shop Pvt Ltd' in New Road. SP Regmi informed RSS that the police are investigating the case.
The police did not reveal how much gold was recovered. SP Regmi said that some of the recovered gold was found in the shape of biscuits and while some was already made into jewelry. According to the police, further investigation is going on regarding the illegal gold transaction.
