KATHMANDU, March 29: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has demanded a thorough investigation into the incidents that occurred during the royalist protests in the capital on Friday. A Central Executive Committee meeting of the party held at the party's office in Dhumbarahi called for the establishment of an independent judicial commission to probe the events at Tinkune.
RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden informed that the meeting issued a 24-hour ultimatum for the unconditional release of Vice Chairman Rabindra Mishra and General Secretary Dhawal SJB Rana. He further emphasized that if the leaders are not released, the party will organize protests nationwide and escalate the issue into a full-scale movement.

The meeting concluded that the incidents during the royalist protests were a direct result of the government's actions. Chairman Lingden criticized the government's strategy, accusing it of mobilizing forces with the intention to suppress the protest and provoke violence.
Lingden also pointed out that the escalation began when tear gas shells were deliberately lobbed at a peaceful gathering, leading to the violent outcome.
