BERLIN, Dec 21: Dr Shail Rupakheti, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to the Federal Republic of Germany, presented his ‘Letters of Credence’ to Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of Germany, in a special ceremony held on Friday at Schloss Bellevue.
Following the presentation, Ambassador Dr Rupakheti was received by President Steinmeier for an audience. During the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings from the President of Nepal Ramchandra Paudel and the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. He reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the bilateral relations between Nepal and Germany.

In response to President Steinmeier’s inquiries, Ambassador Dr Rupakheti provided insights into the current political developments in Nepal, the country's priorities and its position on key geopolitical issues. He also expressed gratitude to the German government for its ongoing support of Nepal’s efforts in sustainable and inclusive socio-economic transformation.
President Steinmeier acknowledged the strong and cordial ties between Nepal and Germany. He recalled a previous meeting with the President Paudel, at Schloss Bellevue on June 17, 2024 and expressed appreciation for the official invitation extended to him by Nepal’s President.
The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from the German government.
Ambassador Dr Rupakheti was accompanied by his spouse, Dr Indira Paudyal and Chuman Singh KC, Third Secretary at the Embassy of Nepal in Germany.
