Madhesi Commission directs police HQ to take action against those who attacked Janakpur Bolts supporters

The  Madhesi Commission has instructed the police to identify and take action against the chaotic and arrogant group who used weapons and injured Janakpur supporters and used sexist and racist words through social media.

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: The Madhesi Commission has made written correspondence with the police headquarters to take action against those who attacked Janakpur Bolts supporters.


After the final of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Saturday, the Commission has instructed the police to identify and take action against the chaotic and arrogant group who used weapons and injured Janakpur supporters and used sexist and racist words through social media.

Commission Chairperson Dr Bijay Kumar Dutta has asked the police to identify those involved in such activities as soon as possible.


Mentioning that the incident has clarified the attitude towards the Madheshi community, he claimed that if the state and police administration is not sensitive, it will have a negative impact on the social harmony and all-round development of the state.


The commission has formed a high-level team including member Jiwachh Shah to inquire about the incident and to communicate with the injured and submit accurate details. Chairman Dr Dutta said that the next step will be taken after the report of the team.


Meanwhile, the CK Raut-led Janamat Party Spokesperson Sharad Singh Yadav issued a statement on Sunday stating that serious attention has been drawn to the incident and demanded action against the culprits.
