TAPLEJUNG, Dec 22: The chairperson of a rural municipality in Taplejung has sought an explanation from Kulman Ghising, the Managing Director (MD) of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), questioning why no action has been taken on a file that has been on his desk for six months. Dipendra (Dipen) Pomu, the chairperson of Atharai Tribeni Rural Municipality, expressed his dissatisfaction over the inaction regarding the file.
He also asked Ghising when the work on that file would move forward. Chairperson Pomu urged Ghising to explain the reasons for the lack of progress on the file and challenged him to either take action or return the file with a clear explanation, so he could pursue alternative solutions for the matter.

According to Pomu, the process of acquiring an ambulance for Atharai Tribeni Rural Municipality, funded through the community responsibility amount from the Dhungesaghu–Amarpur 132 kV transmission line, has stalled on Ghising's desk. He claimed that the municipality's application for the ambulance, submitted on July 11, 2024, has been stuck without progress. Chairperson Pomu expressed frustration, stating that instead of facilitating the municipality's ambulance procurement process by promptly processing the file, the NEA has left it in limbo.
Pomu stated that the delay caused by a responsible authority, even in a sensitive matter like acquiring an ambulance, has caused significant frustration. He urged MD Ghising and the NEA to either expedite the processing of the file and facilitate the process or inform him with reasons if it cannot be done.
