A Bolero jeep heading to Panchthar from Dharan plunged into the Tamor River, killing six people. Panchthar’s Chief District Officer Arun Pokharel said that five bodies have been recovered so far and preparations are underway to retrieve the remaining one.

Authorities handed over the bodies of all four individuals who died in the Pathibhara accident on Monday morning to their families after completing postmortem examinations. The accident was caused by an electric shock when a sagging high-voltage power line fell onto a vehicle.

A helicopter was dispatched from Kathmandu on Sunday to airlift two victims injured in a vehicle fire near the Pathibhara area in Taplejung.

A burst of raging fire suddenly engulfed a vehicle traveling toward the Pathibhara area of Taplejung, killing four people, including the driver, and injuring two others. Authorities transported the injured to Taplejung District Hospital for treatment.

The "No Cable Car" faction has temporarily suspended the indefinite transportation strike it called for April 7 in several areas of the Koshi Province.

Taplejung Police have taken 18 people from the 'No Cable Car' group into custody on charges of 'rioting and criminal disturbance' following an incident at Birendra Chowk in Phungling on the evening of February 22.

The Taplejung administration has lifted the curfew in the Phungling area.
