Bhatta and Chaudhary had also been awarded with the NVA player of the year around two weeks ago.

Earlier, Sharma, who had established the revolving fund and started awarding the players annually, has given continuation to it.

Sharma had established the fund of Rs 1 million in his own name after volleyball was declared as the national game two years ago. Sharma said that he will contribute for the development of volleyball through the trust for years to come.

“I planned to establish the trust to award the players annually,’’ Sharma said. “This will continue in the coming years even though I’m not associated with volleyball.”

NVA General Secretary Jitendra Bahadur Chand addressing the same program said that there is a total of Rs 96,500 in the fund, and Rs 60,000 was spent for the awards. He also added that the fund will be spent for the medical expenses and other facilities to the players.

He further added that they are planning to spend Rs 50,000 to each winning players from the next edition.
