KATHMANDU: Eighteen children from Bal Mandir enjoyed a mountain flight to Mount Everest on Saturday morning.  The event was organized on the occasion of Children´s Day as well as completion of 15 years in the business of Yeti Airlines, according to a press statement issued by the sponsor.

“We thank Yeti Airlines for taking the initiatives. It will be very nice for these children if everyone can provide these children with whatever they can,” the statement, quoting Tulsi Narayan Shrestha, vice president of Balmandir as saying.[break]

Roshan Regmi, the marketing manager of Yeti Airlines said that the main purposes of the event were to take the children out of the four walls of the state-run orphanage.

“I hope this change the way they perceive life. We really want a world which listens to children´s needs and we hope this event will act as a major icebreaker for Balmandir and the lovely kids,” added Regmi in the statement.

“I want to become a pilot one day and fly to the Everest every day,” said Suraj Joshi, one of the 18 children who was on the mountain flight.
