KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed concern over the frequent tremors occurring and safety. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed concern, urging everyone to stay alert and safe in a social media post this morning. He said, "There have been small and large tremors in various parts recently. Please stay alert and stay safe."


The tremors of an earthquake that had its epicenter in China were felt in Kathmandu this morning.

Initial estimates place the epicenter of the earthquake in the border area between Nepal and China (Tibet), which was felt in the Kathmandu Valley, surrounding areas, the Terai, and eastern districts today.


The earthquake struck around 6:50 AM this morning, with an initial magnitude of 7.1 on the Richter scale in that region. Authorities are still awaiting details about the damage caused by the earthquake.
