KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The Rasuwagadhi and Kerung border points have remained open despite the powerful earthquake in China. The Rasuwagadhi Customs Office reported that no damage reports have been received from the Kerung side so far, and cargo containers continue to flow into Nepal.

The earthquake, which hit at 9:05 AM local time, had its epicenter in Tsogo Township, Dingri County, Shigatse City. The 20-kilometer radius surrounding the epicenter includes 27 villages.
Rabindra Prasad Pyakurel, an information officer at Rasuwagadhi Customs, shared that more than 20 containers of Chinese goods entered Nepal through the Kerung border following the earthquake.
He stated that the full impact of the earthquake would only be clear after the situation is assessed later. Of late, Nepal has been importing more than 30 containers of Chinese goods, including garments, vehicles, hydroelectric equipment, and ready-made items, on a daily basis through the Rasuwagadhi border.
