KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Nepal recorded the highest quantity of paddy production in its history this year.

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: The government is going to purchase paddy worth about Rs 2 billion from the farmers. To ensure a market for the paddy produced by the farmers, the Food Management and Trading Company Limited is going to purchase about 50,000 metric tons of rice.

KATHMANDU, August 1:  Paddy transplantation has been completed on 80.18% of the rice field across the country as of Sunday.

BIRATNAGAR, August, 1: Rampyar Yadav, a seasoned farmer from Jahada village of Morang, has no memory of a single year when he did not have to struggle for fertilizer. No matter how proper preparation he did or how much rapport he built with fertilizer suppliers, he has always struggled with the shortage of fertilizers in the hour of need. He recently completed planting paddy in his farms. ‘Everything went well, except for the arrangement of fertilizers.’

BAJURA, June 30: Paddy plantation has been completed by only 30 per cent due to lack of rain in Bajura. By Asar 15, i.e. today, majority of the plantation should have been completed.

According to the report, paddy transplantation has been done on 30,625 hectares of land in Jhapa, 13,200 hectares in Morang, 11,000 hectares in Sunsari, 8,100 hectares in Saptari and 10,145 hectares in Siraha so far.
