KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Ruling parties have agreed to adopt a unified approach to address national challenges amid preparations by opposition parties to launch a fresh round of protests against the government.
In a meeting held in the capital on Wednesday, top leaders of the ruling parties discussed the government's achievements over the past 100 days, current events, and ways to collaborate on various issues of national interest.
The meeting, held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence in Baluwatar, highlighted the government's commitment to democracy, the rule of law, good governance, and effective service delivery to the public.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to address the government's achievements today at 3 PM from Singha Durbar, marking the 100th day in office.
During the meeting, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak stated that former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane was arrested following a report from the Parliamentary Probe Committee on the embezzlement of cooperative funds. He remarked that protests are not appropriate while a judicial investigation is ongoing. The meeting agreed that the ruling parties will issue statements supporting a fair judicial process and the democratic system.
Following the meeting, General Secretary of the ruling CPN-UML Shankar Pokharel informed the media that another meeting will take place on Friday, October 25, to discuss the government's work and future plans.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the importance of unity among the ruling parties. He reaffirmed his commitment to democracy and national interests, stating, "We have fought for democracy, and we will not accept chaos. Our dedication to the people's sovereignty remains unwavering."
Participants included Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Home Minister Lekhak, UML Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel, and leaders from various other ruling parties.
