NC condemns assault on Koshi Province President Thapa

NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel demanded the government identify those responsible for the assault and take legal action against them. The party has wished for speedy recovery of the injured leader.

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: The Nepali Congress (NC) has condemned the attack on the party's Koshi Province President Uddhav Thapa on Saturday.


A group of people allegedly attacked him near Surunga of Kankai Rural Municipality as he was returning from the Nepal Press Union Jhapa's event. Thapa, the NC parliamentary party leader for the province and a former chief minister, sustained injuries to his forehead due to the attack.
