KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP-N) Upendra Yadav has announced that his party will no longer cooperate with Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, accusing him of betrayal. Yadav made the remark while discussing the breakdown of the previous cooperation between the two leaders. He said that the Socialist Front had created an environment for Dahal to become Prime Minister, but Dahal's actions, according to Yadav, were a stab in the back. As a result, he declared that further cooperation with Dahal was no longer possible.

Responding to questions about the possibility of a Madhesi Front in the future, Yadav remained open to the idea, stating that a front could be formed in the future in our struggle for rights.

Yadav also marked the significance of the day, referring to it as a day of rebellion against exploitation and oppression. He said that the sacrifices made by martyrs, especially the first martyr Ramesh Mahato, would not be forgotten. Mahato, a student from Majhaura, Siraha, was killed during the first Madhesh movement on January 19, 2007, in Lahan.

Today, 18 years later, the Madhesh-centric parties and the provincial government commemorated Magh 5 as Sacrifice Day, honoring the contributions of those who fought for Madhesh's rights. Various programs were held in memory of the movement's martyrs.
