Nepal had trade surplus with 27 countries during mid-July to mid-November

KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Nepal sustained trade surplus with 27 countries in the first four months of the current fiscal year.

KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Nepal sustained trade surplus with 27 countries in the first four months of the current fiscal year.


According to the Department of Customs (DoC), Nepal earned a net amount of Rs 2.46 billion from trading with these 27 countries during mid-July to mid-November this year. Of these, Nepal received a net amount of Rs 1.97 billion from the USA. The export to the country was recorded at Rs 6.10 billion, while imports accounted for Rs 4.12 billion.

With earnings of Rs 305 million, Denmark stood second in the row. The Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Slovakia, Iceland, Latvia, Chad, Sudan, Croatia, Malta and Georgia, were among others.


During the review period, Nepal faced a trade deficit with 118 countries.  Overall, the country withstood a trade deficit of Rs 461 billion.
