KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Arun Valley Hydropower Company has earned a net profit of Rs 113.2 million in the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
The company’s net profit has increased eightfold compared to the first three months of last year. By mid-October last year, the company had earned a profit of Rs 13.8 million. Compared to last year, Arun Valley's profit has surged by 720.53 percent this year.

The company's net profit has increased along with the rise in income from electricity sales. The revenue from electricity sales has increased by 485.57 percent, reaching Rs 77.4 million.
Last year, the company earned Rs 13.2 million from electricity sales. Along with the profit, the company's earnings per share have also increased.
In the first three months of last year, earnings per share were Rs 2.96, which have increased to Rs 12.12 in the first three months of the current year. The company’s net worth per share stands at Rs 106.83. Similarly, the company has a paid-up capital of Rs 3.73 billion.
