PHC calls for complaints against proposed Judicial Council member Khadka

On Thursday, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) at Singha Durbar, started the hearing for Khadka, who has been proposed as a member of the Judicial Council.

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The parliamentary hearing for Damodar Khadka, who has been proposed as a member of the Judicial Council, has begun.


On Thursday, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) at Singha Durbar, started the hearing for Khadka, who has been proposed as a member of the Judicial Council. The PHC has also called for complaints against Khadka, if any. If anyone believes that Khadka is not suitable to be a member of the Judicial council, they can file a complaint within 10 days. The name, surname, and place of origin of the complainants will remain confidential, if they wish so.

In the meeting, the chairperson of the PHC Ishwari Devi Neupane said that Khadka's name had been proposed by the Judicial Council to the committee for a parliamentary hearing.


According to Section 12 of the Procedure of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee 2080, the PHC must publicly announce the information regarding the proposed individual through government media, for the purpose of informing the general public and receiving any information or complaints related to the individual for submission to the committee.
