PHC seeks public complaints against proposed judicial council member Nirala

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) has announced public complaints against senior advocate and former attorney general Laxmi Bahadur Nirala Khadka who has been proposed a member of the Judicial Council.

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) has announced public complaints against senior advocate and former attorney general Laxmi Bahadur Nirala Khadka who has been proposed a member of the Judicial Council. 


A meeting of the committee on Tuesday sought complaints against Khadka within the next ten days beginning from Wednesday. According to the chairperson of the committee Laxman Lal Karna, the proposed member will be eligible for the appointment after the received complaints are discussed.

The post of a Judicial Council member has been lying vacant following the resignation of former member Padam Baidik on December 4. 


The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday picked Nirala for the vacant post. Nirala had served the attorney general during the direct reign of the former King Gyanendra Shah.
