KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak denounced the assault on Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi at the Kathmandu District Court premises on Wednesday.
He made this statement on Thursday after addressing the media about the progress of government work following a meeting with the ministers from his party, Nepali Congress, at party president Sher Bahadur Deuba's residence.

He stated that authorities will punish those involved in anarchic activities. He also emphasized that Nepal upholds business freedom. On Wednesday, an assault occurred on lawyer Tripathi as he was exiting after the detention hearing in the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative fraud case.
He said, "Whoever does it, this country has democracy. It guarantees business freedom. People can run their own businesses. Lawyers can practice law, doctors can work as doctors, and businessmen can conduct business. Anyone who creates obstacles, disruptions, chaos, or acts against the law will face punishment. Regarding the incident with Dinesh Tripathi, it is highly condemnable. It is an extremely wrong act. Whoever acts against democratic spirit, regardless of their political affiliation, will be held accountable."
