KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The Nepali Congress (NC) has instructed its ministers in the government to hold open meetings two days a week. NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba issued this directive after a discussion between the ministers and the Parliamentary Party's working committee at his residence.
NC Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire said after the meeting, "We have instructed ministers to hold open meetings two days a week. They are directed to visit the party office on alternate days, meet with party workers, listen to citizens' grievances, collect suggestions, and dedicate the remaining five days entirely to their ministry work."

Ten ministers and two ministers of state from the NC represent the party in the government. They have also decided to actively contribute to the government's success and hold regular discussions.
Ghimire said that they have decided to work actively on the bills under consideration.
He said, "We discussed accelerating the work in each ministry. Due to the lack of budget, some plans have stalled. We have decided to move forward with them as soon as possible."
