KATHMANDU, March 24: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday escalated 26.10 points to close at 2,640.78 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,614.68 points and plunged to the day’s low at 2,593.09 points in the first 18 minutes. The market then regained momentum and reached as high as 2,645.64 points in the next two hours. The market shed around five points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

All the 13 trading groups were the gainers in the intraday trading. Life insurance witnessed the biggest surge of 191.23 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also inclined 4.09 points. Daily turnover amount however plunged to Rs 4.48 billion from Rs 6.32 billion on Sunday.
Among the individual companies, only 210 were gainers while 33 were registered as losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the biggest turnover of Rs 326.97 million.
Guardian Micro Life Insurance Limited gained the highest of 9.51 points. Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Limited registered the largest loss by shedding 4.26 percent of its market value.
