KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday dropped 9.83 points to close at 1,838.96 points, while the daily turnover slid to around half a billion rupees.
In recent days, the secondary market is continuously on the downfall while the daily transaction volume has also witnessed a massive fall. In August 2021, the daily turnover crossed over Rs 21 billion. But the Nepse recorded a turnover of mere Rs 655.70 million on Thursday.

In the intraday trading, the market opened at 1,848.80 points and rose to 1,855.97 points. The index fell successively in the remaining trading hours.
All the 13 trading groups lost in their average share prices. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chips companies also declined 1.45 points.
Nabil Bank had the transactions of its shares worth Rs 25.86 million, the largest of all. Prabhu Bank Debenture 2084 was the top loser while Samling Power Company gained the biggest percent in its share price.
