KATHMANDU, March 26: After six hours of grueling efforts, firefighters have finally doused the fire that broke out at 9:30 am on Wednesday at Center Plaza in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan-6, Sunsari.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yog Raj Khatri, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Sunsari, 12 fire trucks from various local levels and nearly 300 personnel from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepali Army worked together to extinguish the flames.

Authorities stated that the building's large size made it difficult to extinguish the fire immediately. The police are investigating the cause of the fire. The police have not estimated the financial loss due to the fire accident as they are yet to receive details about the accident.
The Ministry of Home Affairs dispatched a Nepali Army helicopter from Kathmandu to assist in rescuing those trapped in the building. 11 individuals were safely rescued from the building. According to DSP Khatri, the rescued individuals include MD Jay from Bangladesh, America Rai, Laxmi Shrestha, Bikash Dhami, Bishnu Tamang, Sanjay Jaiswal, Diya Rai, Bishal Singh, Ashish Chaudhary, and two others.
The police confirmed that all the rescued individuals are in stable condition.
