Earlier in the morning, opposition parties held a joint meeting at the Maoist Center’s parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar, where they condemned the decision as unjust, and resolved to protest in Parliament.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Santosh Pariyar, Chief Whip of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), alleged that the government had undemocratically removed Ghising by violating procedures, and that the opposition parties take up the issue both in parliament and the streets.
Opposition parties have accused the government of removing Ghising buoyed by a sense of arrogance stemming from a two-thirds majority in the House. The strength of the two-thirds majority, however, does not translate into actions beyond the parliament, Pariyar alleged.
