The pilgrimage started after holding religious rituals and Rudripooja (prayer of lord Shiva) at the Pashupatinath temple.

The 17-day pilgrimage is normally held from Katuwal daha of Bagmati to Bagdwar. But it will begin with a journey of only seven days this year.

As the part of the journey, pilgrims will reach 165 shrines along the Bagmati river corridor and offer worships there. The first-day journey would conclude today after reaching

Shikharnarayan after visiting and performing worship at Karyabinayek and Dakshinkali Gopaleshwor, and the installation of auspicious urn, said Priest of the Journey, Madan Bhatta.

Inaugurating the journey, member-Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, Dr Pradeep Dhakal, expressed the belief that the journey would help hand down the culture of Kathmandu Valley to new generation. The journey would conclude on April 31. RSS
