UN-Habitat's Resident Representative Hamdy also emphasized the organization's role in localizing the Sustainable Development Goals and addressing complex urban challenges by mainstreaming urban planning.
At the World Forum, DPM Singh addressed three sessions on behalf of Nepal. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development discussed the impact of climate change in Nepal and called for climate justice.
Singh strongly raised the issue at the international level, emphasizing that climate justice for developing countries like Nepal, which contribute very little to carbon emissions, can only be achieved through easier access to international climate finance and technical assistance, as they are facing direct impacts of climate change.
The forum, which began on November 4 in Cairo, Egypt, will conclude today. DPM Singh will arrive in Nepal tomorrow morning at 10.
