KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The CPN-UML has finalized all six candidates for the upcoming local level by-election in Lumbini Province. The UML Lumbini Province In-charge Padma Aryal posted on social media that the provincial committee has finalized the candidates unanimously to contest six vacant positions in Lumbini Province. 


Kesh Kumari Tulachan has been nominated as the candidate for the vice-chairperson of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality in East Rukum. At the same time, Jiwan Roka Magar has been chosen as the UML candidate for the position of Ward 2 chairperson in the same municipality.

According to Aryal, UML has decided to field Dal Bahadur Thapa as the candidate for chairperson in Musikot Municipality-1 of Gulmi. 


Similarly, Bishnu Prasad Devkota has been nominated as the UML candidate for the chairperson position in Thakurbaba Municipality-4 of Bardiya.


Abdul Mojim Khan has been selected as the candidate of Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality-1 of Kalilvastu, and Begam Pun has been nominated for the chairperson position in Runtigadhi Rural Municipality-4 of Rolpa.


The Election Commission has scheduled the by-elections for December 1, to fill 44 vacant positions, including two district coordination committee chiefs, two rural municipality chairs, four vice-chairs, one municipality mayor, one deputy mayor, and 34 ward chairs. The Commission has set November 17 as the candidate registration deadline.
