KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The four-day Chhath festival, dedicated to the worship of the Sun God, concluded on Friday morning with offerings made to the rising sun.
Devotees stayed awake all night along the banks of rivers, ponds and lakes including Raghunathpur Pond in Lahan and various other locations across the Madhesh region to conclude Chhath and worship the rising Sun God.

After offering ‘arghya’ to the setting sun yesterday, devotees worshiped the rising sun today. The Chhath celebrations were equally vibrant at Ghadiarwa Pond in Birgunj, historic Ganga Sagar and Dhanusha Sagar in Janakpur, and Argaja Pond. The festival was also celebrated with great enthusiasm at various locations in Saptari, including Koshi Barrage, Bhardaha, Chhinnamasta, Kanchanpur, and the district headquarters, Rajbiraj.
Devotees gather at the beautifully decorated Chhath ghats, adorned like a bride, to perform worship. Chhath is celebrated by worshiping the Sun God with the wish for blessings such as the happiness of children, family well-being, peace, prosperity, relief from ailments, and the fulfillment of various desires.
