KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The Secretariat of the Recommendation Committee has issued a notice calling for applications for the positions of Chairpersons and members of the Commission for Investigation on Enforced Disappearance Persons (CIEDP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
The Commission on Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Act, 2071 (2014) has determined that each of these commissions will consist of five members including a chairperson, with at least one of the members compulsorily being a woman.

The qualifications required for the positions of chairpersons and members includes having a master's degree from a recognized educational institution, not being a member of any political party, having high moral character, having worked in the field of human rights, peace, conflict management or sociology, and having completed 35 years of age.
In the case of the chairpersons, it is mentioned that one should have worked as a justice of the Supreme Court or the Chief Judge of an appellate court, worked in a special category position in the Nepal Judicial Service, or have the qualifications required to be appointed as a justice of the Supreme Court.
