KATHMANDU, Oct 10: The number of people testing positive for the novel coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) has surpassed 1,300 in Tokha Municipality of Kathmandu.
With 66 new cases of COVID-19 detected on Friday, the number of people infected with the virus has reached 1,301. The infected include 736 males and 565 females.

Of the 11 wards in the municipality, ward 8 has the highest number of 156 cases and the lowest is in ward 1 with 28 cases of COVID-19.
There are currently 489 active cases in the municipality of which 411 are undergoing treatment at home isolation and 56 are in different hospitals within the Kathmandu Valley.
As of Friday, five individuals have succumbed to COVID-19 in Tokha Municipality as the number of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests conducted in the municipality nears 5,000.
The municipal office has also decided to provide an allowance of Rs 350 per day to those infected people who are in home isolation.
