Election materials dispatched to polling locations for by-elections

KATHMANDU, Nov 24:  The printing of ballot papers required for the local by-elections scheduled for December 1 has been completed. A total of 259,000 ballot papers, with separate ones for each position, have been printed for the by-election. 


The EC has stated that with the completion of printing of ballot papers, all necessary election materials, including the ballot papers, have been dispatched to the respective polling locations.

The ballot papers have been printed, including the election symbols assigned to political parties and independent candidates based on the number of candidates. According to the EC, Nepali Congress candidates Tek Raj Bhattarai and Tika Kumari Chaudhary (Bhul), have already been elected unopposed as the District Coordination Committee Chiefs of Okhaldhunga and Kailali, respectively.


Jagat Gharti, the candidate from the CPN (Maoist Center), has also been elected unopposed as the Ward Chairperson of Ward-2 in Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality, Rukum East. For the by-election, 162 polling sites and 293 polling centers have been designated.
