46 APF personnel test positive for COVID-19 in Ilam

ILAM, Aug 6: As many as 46 Armed Police Force (APF) personnel tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) including 16 more diagnosed on Thursday.

ILAM, Aug 6: As many as 46 Armed Police Force (APF) personnel tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) including 16 more diagnosed on Thursday.


Swab samples of 60 people including 19 APF staffer and 38 locals were sent for COVID-19 testing earlier on Saturday, according to the Focal Person at the District Health Office, Bimal Baral.

The newly-diagnosed patients are being taken to the Biratnagar-based COVID-19 Hospital.


APF personnel deployed at the Nepal-India border points and various quarantine facilities in the district are found infected by COVID-19. Following the rising number of COVID-19 cases among the security personnel, APF Headquarters No 1 at the district headquarters was sealed off.


With this, the COVID-19 tally in Ilam has reached 67.
