KATHMANDU, Aug 25: A female traffic police personnel was assaulted while on duty in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, on Tuesday.
Police have arrested a 27-year-old man, Raj Kathayat of Jumla, in connection with the assault.

The incident occurred when the traffic officer, who was stationed in the area for road-safety awareness, asked pedestrians to use the overhead pedestrian bridge to cross the road. Kathayat allegedly assaulted her instead.
Two other traffic police officers who came to intervene were also allegedly assaulted by Kathayat.
Police arrested him immediately after the incident. He has been taken to the Baneshwor Police Circle, where further investigation is underway.
