KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Police have arrested four people on charges of assaulting traffic police in the Gatthaghar accident case.
According to the District Police Range Bhaktapur, four individuals were arrested for assaulting traffic police following an accident that occurred on August 15 in Gatthaghar, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality in Bhaktapur.

The detainees include 26-year-old Sudip Parajuli from Kapilvastu, 31-year-old Subas Basnet from Bahradashi Rural Municipality-5 in Jhapa, 27-year-old Devraj Khatri from Khandadevi Rural Municipality-6 in Ramechhap, and 29-year-old Rohit Thapamgar from Chaudandigadhi Municipality-6 in Udayapur.
They were arrested from various locations on Tuesday, and the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur, extended the deadline by 5 days for the offense of indecent behavior on Friday.
On August 15, 65-year-old Uttam Koirala, a resident of Kapan, Kathmandu, died on the spot when a truck (Na 6 Kha 2173) hit a scooter (Ba 49 Pa 8944) near Gatthaghar Chowk.
Following the accident, local residents blocked the road. The agitating crowd also broke the truck’s windows and some people assaulted traffic police, claiming that the accident occurred due to the traffic police’s fault.
