KATHMANDU, Aug 16: The identity of the deceased in the Gatthaghar accident on Thursday has been revealed. According to the Bhaktapur Police Range, the deceased has been identified as Uttam Koirala from Chisankhugadi Rural Municipality-4, Okhaldhunga, who was living in Kapan.
Koirala was hit by a truck and dragged after traffic police stopped him for a check. His scooter (Ba 49 Pa 8944) was struck by a truck (Na 6 Ba 2173) on Thursday. Eyewitnesses said that the truck hit and dragged Koirala for a few meters.

Koirala’s body is to undergo a post-mortem at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.
Following the fatal accident, Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak instructed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Kunwar to investigate the incident.
