KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Nepal defeated Afghanistan by five wickets in their opening men’s cricket match at the Asian Games in Japan on Friday.
In the match held in Nishin, Nepal chased down Afghanistan’s target of 103 runs with 16 balls to spare, losing five wickets in the process.

Afghanistan, a Test-playing nation, had batted first and set Nepal a target of 103 runs.
The victory gives Nepal two points in Group A. Afghanistan had also secured two points after defeating hosts Japan in their earlier group match.
Nepal made a winning start to their Asian Games campaign with the five-wicket victory.
