KAPILVASTU, July 31: Two female health workers of Shivaraj Municipality of Kapilvastu accused Lekhnath Poudel, the chief of the Health Center of sexually assaulting them. Last Friday night, Poudel and his friend Bhuwan Pandey were accused of sexually assaulting the two female health workers at the basic health center situated in Shivaraj Municipality.
The female health workers have filed a complaint stating that Poudel and Pandey, after consuming alcohol, sexually assaulted the two female health workers who were on night duty at 1 AM on Friday. Poudel and Pandey abused the female health workers by yelling at them using abusive language. Chief Administrative Officer Rakesh Pandey said that the female health employees have filed a written complaint against Poudel at Shivaraj Municipality. The female health employees have filed a complaint against Poudel for sexual abuse, use of abusive language and have demanded security and justice.
Three arrested for sexually abusing Raute women
The accused Poudel and Pandey have been contactless. Poudel was given the responsibility of the chief of the basic health center from last July 17. Mayor Ajay Thapa has expressed his commitment to investigate the incident and punish the culprits legally and to provide justice. He said that the health workers whose names were linked to the incident were immediately removed from their respective responsibility and the investigation has started. “Any type of violence against women is not acceptable,” he said. After the incident, the victimized female health employees are facing mental stress.
