KATHMANDU, Sept 24: Nepal’s Rubin Maharjan and Samyog Kapali have been eliminated in the first round of the men’s singles table tennis event at the 20th Asian Games in Japan.
In matches held at Sky Hall Toyota in Nagoya, Japan, on Thursday, Rubin was defeated by Macau’s Tin Ian Mak, while Samyog lost to Ebrahim Gubran of Yemen.

Rubin won the first and second sets 11-5 and 11-3, respectively. However, he lost the third, fourth and fifth sets 11-9, 11-4 and 12-10, respectively.
Similarly, Samyog lost four of his five sets against Ebrahim.
