KATHMANDU, March 30: Renowned economist Dr Swarnim Wagle has decided to quit Nepali Congress (NC) alleging that he was repeatedly humiliated by the party's top leadership.

Dr Wagle has sent message about his decision to quit NC to four leaders including General Secretaries duo Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Dr Shekhar Koirala and Dr Gobinda Raj Pokharel. .Wagle has been proposed by Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) to be a candidate in the by-election to be held in Tanahun-1 on April 23. "Despite your great goodwill, I have come to a situation where I cannot remain in the NC," he said in his message, "This situation has been brought about by the continuous harassment and insults of the Deuba-Arju gang."

Dr Wagle also mentioned in his message that he wants to use 'delivery' while remaining relevant to his age, knowledge and energy by setting a deadline rather than politics for the grace of waiting and watching for the rest of his life.

Dr Wagle, however, has expressed hope that he will be connected with all the four leaders in one way or the other on the day they reach to the decisive positions within the NC. At the end of his WhatsApp message, he  has said, 'Until then, wherever we stay, I promise to cooperate and support and  maintain the current intimate friendship.'
