KATHMANDU, Oct 7: Domestic and foreign hydropower companies and financial institutions have contributed monetary support to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund. The companies and financial institutions handed over the cheques of various amounts to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.


According to PM’s secretariat, RP Goyal from India's largest hydropower company National Hydropower Corporation (NHPC) provided Rs 10 million; Chief Executive Officer of Arun-III Hydropower Project Limited, Prashant Sharma, contributed Rs 10 million; Chairman of Prabhu Bank Devi Prasad Bhattachan supported Rs 10 million; and Chairman of Prime Commercial Bank Rajendra Das Shrestha contributed Rs 3.1 million to the fund.

Likewise, Chairman of Prabhu Insurance Limited Rajendra Malla, Chairman of Prabhu Mahalakshmi Life Insurance Shiksha Bhattachan, Chairman of Prabhu Capital LP Bhanu Sharma contributed Rs 2.5 million each to the fund.


Acknowledging the amount, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli thanked everyone for their support to the fund for the relief of the people affected by the disaster.
