KATHMANDU, March 7: The Nepali national women's team has improved four spots in the rankings of FIFA, the world's top football body.
In the new rankings updated by FIFA on Friday, the Nepali team has improved four places to 99th place. The Nepali team was previously ranked 103rd in the rankings.

The Nepali women's team had recently secured second place in the four-nation International Women's Championship held at home. The Nepali team won 1-0 against Lebanon and Kyrgyzstan in the final of the competition. The Nepali team has moved up four places due to this performance in the FIFA February window.
In South Asia, Nepal holds the second position, while India leads the region, maintaining its 69th spot in the FIFA rankings. Bangladesh follows in third at 133rd place, with Pakistan in fourth at 157th. Sri Lanka stands fifth at 158th, Maldives ranks sixth at 163rd, and Bhutan sits seventh at 171st. Meanwhile, the United States continues to top the global rankings.
