KATHMANDU, March 8: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) will cut power supply for four to five hours in various areas of Kathmandu on Saturday. The NEA will shut down power in areas under two feeders of the Balambu Distribution Center and the Lazimpat Feeder of the Ratnapark Distribution Center on Saturday afternoon.
To upgrade conductors, the NEA will disconnect the Matatirtha feeder of the Balambu Distribution Center from Matatirtha to Bouthali Chowk. As a result, the affected areas will face a power outage from 11 AM to 4 PM.

Similarly, the NEA will cut power from 11 AM to 4 PM in areas under the Satungal feeder, including Kanchan Gate, Bosigaun, Bouthali, and Satungal Chowk.
The NEA has announced the need to shut down feeders for conductor upgrading work in those areas as well.
Power will be disrupted from 11 AM to 3 PM under the Lazimpat Feeder of the Ratnapark Distribution Center, affecting areas from the substation to the British Wall, the French Embassy, Radisson Hotel, the Indian Embassy, Kharsanitar, and Shangri-La Hotel, up to the Maharajgunj Distribution Center.
The NEA explained that the shutdown is necessary to lay down underground electrical wires in these areas. If the work is completed earlier than scheduled, the NEA will restore power before the designated time.
