KATHMANDU, Oct 8: The Tharu Commission has submitted its annual report on the work completed in the fiscal year FY 2023/24 to President Ram Chandra Paudel.
At a program held on Monday at the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas, Commission Chairman Bishnu Prasad Chaudhary presented the report to President Paudel.

On that occasion, President Paudel stated that culture is an important means of maintaining the identity and belonging of individuals and communities.
He said that the Tharu community has originally been living in the Terai region of Nepal for ages and this community has its own language, culture, costumes, traditions, civilization and customs.
He said, "It is essential to study the history, language, script, culture, traditions, arts, and literature of this community, which is classified as an indigenous ethnic group."
